About
I have been a member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society since 1995. I believe that life holds a beauty that can only be perceived through art. My ambitions are vast, and I am committed to pursuing my artistic journey with determination and passion.
Over the years I have kept moving between materials: acrylic, black ink, watercolour and coffee. Renewal and continuous searching feel necessary to me. I have painted on canvas and on paper, on used teabags, on banknotes, on discarded masks, and on newspaper turned into sculpture.
The human being is my subject in every state: joy, sorrow, anger, pain and the feeling of being disconnected. In the series I called As If I Were You, faces are shaped by pain and torn apart by longing until they become closer to symbols than to portraits.
My message as an artist has always been to bring people closer to the fine arts, whether through the subjects I choose or through the simplicity of the materials I use. Beauty can be found in what others consider worthless, and there is a message about recycling in that too.
I have served on the jury of more than one competition and exhibition. I have worked on a children’s book, a book of drawing and poetry, and a number of book covers.
I teach as much as I paint. I have run workshops for children and adults in watercolour, coffee painting and recycling, and since 2020 I have shared lessons on my YouTube channel. Art has a remarkable ability to turn people into better versions of themselves.
I took part in the Sharjah Biennial for three consecutive editions, the Tehran Biennial for two, and the Sikka Art and Design Festival in 2024. At the From Waste to Art festival in Baku I completed three sculptures made from recycled newspaper and other materials, now held in the museum of the same name. In 2020 I recycled discarded masks to record the moment.
In 2020 the Dubai Culture Authority selected me as one of its accredited creators and granted me the Golden Visa.
Every work on this site is an original, painted and signed by hand.
